Edith Piaf lived in this small apartment in the district of Ménilmontant at the beginning of her career, at the age of 18, for a year, when she was singing in the streets of Ménilmontant.
Transformed into a place of memory, this tiny two-room apartment reveals the behind the scenes of the artist's world, whose voice, songs and life have turned the world upside down.
A rich collection of the personal objects of the artist is exposed: letters written to her sister, clothes including the famous black dress, boxing gloves that belonged to Marcel Cerdan, the great love of her life, sung in L'Hymne à l'Amour and Mon Dieu following his death in a plane crash when he was travelling to join.
By appointment only, from Monday to Wednesday from 1 pm to 6 pm (free visit).
